5 Gallon Bucket Garden and Plans
If you’re growing vegetables in 5-gallon buckets, this simple two-tier stand will change the way you garden. It keeps your buckets off the ground, puts everything within easier reach, and stacks your growing space vertically so you can fit more plants in a smaller footprint.
This is a straightforward 2×4 build that doesn’t require any special woodworking skills. All you need is a saw, a drill, and nine 8-foot boards from your local hardware store. The finished stand measures 45 inches wide and 36 inches tall, with two tiers that comfortably hold standard 5-gallon buckets.
The cut list is simple and laid out to minimize waste — most of your boards will be fully used with very little left over. Assembly follows four steps: setting your short legs, adding the tall legs, building the box frame, and locking everything together with the cross supports.
Whether you’re working with a small backyard, a patio, or just want a cleaner way to organize your container garden, this is a weekend project worth adding to your list.
