I had a commentator on YouTube who built a cat pole based on my design and was upset that their cat would not use a verticle pole. Below is an alternative method for those whose cats need a horizontal surface to scratch.
- First, skip the step of adding foam and canvas to the top of the pole.
- Then use another piece of wood the same size at the bottom and attach it to the top.
- Turn sideways. Done.
